DVD Player Shipments to grow ten times by 2002

800,000 sold to date (about half actually have been sold through)
should increase to 8,600,000 during the next 4 years
price should drop to $300 retail by Christmas 1999

40,000,000 DVD discs produced this year
should increase to 183,000,000 per year by 2002

Stores selling DVD should increase from 5,000 in 1997 to 12,000 in 1998.
